Description

Like public groups for data, it would be useful to have event subscriptions defined by the server.

Additional Information

Proposed solution:

Define a well known folder to contain public event subscriptions under the Server Object. Each object contained in this folder would represent a public Event Subscription. The object would contain a reference to the EventNotifier and a property with the Event filter.

Discussed in Prague meeting. This should not be worked on until we have a confirmed use case and one or more vendors willing to implement it.

This feature is covered by the PubSub functionality.

Servers can be configured to Publish DataSets representing an event subscription to a middleware (e.g. MQTT broker or UDP multicast group) and all Subscribers can subscribe from the middleware.
