New description:

  • 7.28 ReadValueId - Used in Read and CreateMonitoredItems - Table 164 – ReadValueId
    • This parameter is no longer used and it shall be null or empty.
    • If the parameter is not null or empty, the Server shall return Bad_DataEncodingInvalid.

Results in:

  • If a Client today uses e.g. 'Default Binary' - which is the same the Client uses for the session - the Client will fail --> broken backward compatibility.
